It is already hard enough to manage your school work, but on top of that you
have work. This is an everyday thing college students at Miramar have to deal
with. I even deal with this and so does my group members. We all use different
things to manage are stress with school and work. I like to go play basketball
or work out at the gym to manage my stress. Stress comes with college, but it
is doubled when you also have work. I recommend following these 8 steps to
succeed.
Step 1 is to get a calendar and use it. It can be a paper calendar. It can
be your cell phone. It can be a PDA. No matter what kind it is, though, make
sure you have one and you actually use it. Second is to write everything down.
For example if it was Monday for me wake up 4 AM shower eat 5:30 be at work
till 8, school at 9:30 - 12:45. That would just be my Monday mornings. Third
step is to find time for you. This time for me is when I work out or play
basketball to relieve stress, but you can also just relax and sleep. Fourth
step would be to keep trying new systems if the calendar system isn’t working
for you. The fifth step is to allow flexibility Things inevitably come up that
you weren't expecting. You may not have known that your friend’s birthday is
this week, and you certainly don't want to miss the celebration. Leave room in
your calendar so that you can move things around when needed. The sixth step is
to plan ahead this step is the step I know I need to work on. I am one of the
biggest procrastinators out of my friends. This step can be easily handled if
you put your mind to it. The seventh step is to plan for the unexpected. The
last step is always make rewards my rewards are Friday and Saturday night I go
out with my friends and have a good time.
In
conclusion it is very difficult to manage school and work, but these steps
should help if you are not doing well. This information has changed my college
career because it has taught me how to manage my time wisely and I hope it dose
the same for you.

“Yes I
work and also go to school. I manage my school and work by planning ahead.
Usually I work at night so I do all my school work during the day and if I
don’t have work I will relax.”

“I cut
hair Monday Wednesday Friday and go to class Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I have
to do all my assignments right when I get them that day. If I’m not cutting
hair then I’ll use that time to relax and watch my TV shows or go to the beach
or relax with my boyfriend.”

“I
manage school and work with a calendar that I hang up in my room. I write all
my assignments down on it as well as what days I work and my friends birthdays
so I can manage my time wisely.”
